Head of Research
Following a cancer diagnosis in his immediate family, Greg became passionate about developing curative therapies for cancer, and he has spent the last decade committed to this goal. Prior to assuming the role of Head of Research at Unum, he served as Head of Immunopharmacology at Unum, responsible for the discovery and expansion of Unum’s portfolio. Before joining Unum, Greg spent several years at Novartis where he led multiple preclinical discovery projects in the CAR-T group. Greg has over 15 years of experience as an immunologist. He received his training in immuno-oncology and T-cell therapy at the University of Pennsylvania, and Dr. Motz has authored numerous publications and reviews in top-tier journals on the topic of immune suppression in the tumor microenvironment. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati. Greg enjoys sea kayaking, hiking, and attempting to grow great tomatoes. On a rainy day, he stays busy building legos with his two sons.
